Newsflash: Contact made with Lucy King's parents

Brian and Janet King outside the NFU lunch tent, the Suffolk Show near Ipswich

At the Suffolk Show on Wednesday I had the pleasure of meeting Janet and Brian King, the parents of one of our current Certificate 3 full-time students, Lucy King. Hailing from near Colchester, Janet and Brian get to the show every few years to keep up to date with agricultural matters and to enjoy the sunshine. Brian has a family background in both agriculture and horticulture, and we met near the judging ring for the Red Poll cattle.
We had a pleasant lunch in the NFU tent (the family's insurances are still with the National Farmers' Union) and I was able to inform them of Lucy's progress through her course. We did manage a small chuckle in recalling Lucy's incident with a Poll Hereford steer as part of the training for steers at the UWS yards.
A delightful couple and I was very glad to have met them.
